Popup upsell

An offer that appears at a moment you choose — after an add to cart, on exit intent, or once the cart is near your free-shipping threshold.

The popup is the only surface that can appear on any page, which makes it the most powerful and the easiest to overuse. It’s built to be gated: a trigger decides when, and a display rule decides whether.

Included from Pro, together with the rule engine.

Pick a trigger

  • Add to cart — fires just after a shopper adds something. The most natural moment: they’ve committed, and you’re suggesting a companion.
  • Exit intent — fires when the pointer heads for the browser chrome. Desktop only by nature.
  • Cart value — fires once the cart crosses an amount you set. Good for pairing with free shipping.
  • Time on page — after a delay you choose.
  • Scroll depth — after a percentage of the page.

Keep it from becoming noise

Two settings do most of the work here, and the defaults are deliberately quiet:

  • Times per session — how often one shopper can see it in a single visit. Default 1.
  • Cooldown (hours) — how long before a shopper who’s already seen it can see it again. Default 24.

Appearance

Layout is a centred modal or a corner slide-in; size sets the panel width. Then the usual grid or slider, columns, card style, and heading — or point it at one of your theme’s product snippets so the cards match your storefront exactly.

What it suggests

Same choices as the cart widget: Rank by and a window, or Manual with a hand-picked list. Products in the cart and out-of-stock products are excluded.

The gate is re-checked when it fires

A popup is armed when the page loads but its rule is evaluated when it actually fires, against the cart as it stands at that moment. Carts change between arming and firing — a shopper removes an item, or crosses your threshold — and a check made at page load would already be stale. QSortby re-checks on the server, so a rule can’t be bypassed from the browser.

If the rule no longer holds, nothing shows. That’s the intended outcome, not a failure.
